Cam is a solid metal ring gasket with serrations on both sealing surfaces and covered with a soft material. It is the preferred gasket when needing improved performance at low seating stresses. The simultaneous action of a high compression material on the outside of grooved metal in combination with limited penetration solid metal core enhances the interaction of the two materials.
This allows the component to perform individually to their optimum capabilities.
- Solid metal core resists cold flow, over compression and blowout
- Rigid core provides exceptional stability even in large sizes, and facilitates handling and installation

Main Use:
- Under compression, fill seating surface imperfections to form a tight, metal to-metal connection.
- Seals under low stress-ideal for weaker flanges
- Withstands extreme fluctuations in temperatures and pressures
- Parallel root core is standard design
- Convex root core compensates for weaker flanges and resultion flange rotation.
